Every Praise, Every Nation

All nations whom Thou has made shall come and worship before Thee, O Lord; And they shall glorify Thy name. For Thou art great and doest wondrous deeds; Thou alone art God. I will give thanks to Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And will glorify Thy name forever. (Psalm 86:9-10; 12 NASB)

Of all of the uncertainties of life, all the things we can potentially worry about, all the things and people we can never be sure of, there is one thing we CAN always be sure of; and that is God is God. He was God in the beginning and He will be God at the end. God's Word gives us every assurance of that. I love the book of Isaiah because all through that book God is speaking of Himself; He's letting us know unquestionably that He is God and there is none other than Him. That fact alone gives us reason enough to praise Him.

The above passage reminds us not only did God make the nations but all of them will worship Him. They will give glory to His name. But then the Psalmist gets personal. He says, "I will give thanks. . . with all my heart." Just about any version of the Bible you check it's going to read either "with all my heart" or "with my whole heart." Whatever version you go with it's making the same point: with everything, all, whole, total, complete. David is giving us the example. He made the choice to praise God with all His heart. Have you made the same choice in your life? Are you praising God with all your heart? Every praise belongs to God simply because He is God. Every praise we can lavish upon Him He's worthy of it. Since He has said He will be with us forever, why not decide to praise Him forever on this side? Yes, we get to praise Him in Heaven all day, but we have every opportunity to praise Him now; here on earth while He gives us breath - and while He shows Himself in our lives in such beautiful and wonderful ways. Can you say to yourself, "I will praise Him with my whole heart"?

Walk blessed. . .
