Acapella Worship Concert (AWC) 2016 Some events leave memories that linger. So much anticipation. So much expectation. So much preparation. As the days rolled into weeks and months, it made the wait more intense for lovers of acapella worship in this part of God's globe. Jingles and flyers all around. Then at last it came. Friday December 16th, 2016. The AWC came alive in the auditorium of the Church of Christ, Ugboroke. It was easy to spot the lights for me. Never has that hall been better decorated. The red carpet event stand just in front of the building signaled something spectacular. Joan Igbava and Co were in hand to do the paparazzi. There was enough time to rekindle old friendships. Effects Of Praise Effects Of Praise Living a life of praise is not only the most enjoyable way to live, but it’s also one of the most powerful ways to change your life. Praise isn’t like the caboose that just follows what happens, but it’s more like the engine of a train that makes things happen. Your faith isn’t complete without praise. Colossians 2:7 says that you abound in faith with thanksgiving. No thanksgiving equals not abounding in faith. Praise affects you, it affects the devil, and it affects God. It touches everything and every part of your life. Likewise, a lack of praise affects you in a negative way, turns the devil loose in your life, and doesn’t bless God.  You have to get this area of your life right. To be continued.......

Still robbing God? Some Sundays ago, I stood there teaching and leading songs at the Lord's church in Asaba. When you lead, you see a wide array of singers: happy, interested, motivated, detached, disgruntled and even mute. Malachi 3:8-9 (AKJV)  Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me. But you say, Wherein have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse: for you have robbed me, even this whole nation. Hebrews 13:15 (AKJV)  By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. I got wondering if God really would accept what we bring as an offering today. What was an oblation of bulls and rams have been substituted with songs of praise in this new covenant. (James 4:8) (KJV) When we hear the term "headquarters" what normally comes to mind is the "meeting place," or "the place where everything is going on," or even "starting place". Or we can even say the term "headquarters" denotes the place where needs can be met or perhaps protection can be found. Certainly at "headquarters instructions can be given before proceeding further. It is a place of authority. If in this particular juncture in your Christian experience you feel lost, or in the dark, or can't quite find your direction, I challenge you to worship God. I believe that worship is an avenue, along with prayer, that will get us to Headquarters.
